Happy 1st Birthday Makean

I officially feel old today. My son turned 1 year old today. It's days like today that make you realize that you have to treasure every moment of every day with your children because before you know it they are all grown up. This post is going to be a look back on the last year and how Makean Thomas Leonard has changed my life better and how he makes me strive to be the best father I can be.

This is day one, 7lbs 14oz and just a handsome little devil. He gave us a few scares by trying to come early but my beautiful wife was able to push through the pain and make it to her due date.

This was a great trip home. Mak's first cross country trip and I believe the first time that Uncle Colin got to meet the big man. I love this picture because it shows my mom with her 3 favorite men.

Know for the good stuff, Mak's what we will call birthday party. We ended up keeping it pretty low key for his first birthday. Just family going out to have a good dinner. However, even though there wasn't a big extravaganza we couldn't let the birthday boy go without a birthday cake. In this case a birthday cupcake that Makean absolutely owned. Here is the proof.

It's Official!!

It's official, thanks to the influence of some fellow blogger's my family of 5 is joining the 21st century and starting our very own blog. Who knows if anyone will actually pay attention to anything my wife, Beth and I have to say. However we feel it is our civic duty to impose our opinions on controversial topics such as abortion, the homeless, domestic violence, and world peace upon the viewers of the world wide web. Who are we kidding, anyone that knows us knows that the only controversial topics we have any expertise to talk about are things like which brand of diapers to go with (Pampers if you were wondering), or figuring out how to potty train twins that want nothing to do with being out of diapers. Or even ways to go out in public with 3 kids under the age of three with no assistance from your spouse. These are just a few topics that Beth and myself have become leading authorities on over the last several years.

Hopefully our viewers will eventually look at us as the Dr. Phil and Oprah of the parenting world. I don't know whats worse, the fact that I just compared myself to Dr. Whack Job or that I just compared my beautiful wife to Oprah. Think I might have just got myself in trouble with my very first post. But I guess that is kind of the point in blogging, to be able to speak what is on your mind when it comes to any topic. I LOVE YOU HUNNY!! But I digress, I hope the knowledge and wisdom we wish to pass on will enlighten your life or just make you laugh hysterically because you think we are just down right crazy. We look forward to your comments and potiential ideas for topics we can rant about.
